The right fit makes all the difference. Use one of the three methods below to find your US ring size in a few minutes, then match it to our chart. We offer 44 sizes, from 3 to 13¾ in quarter sizes, so you don't have to settle for “close enough.”
Method 1: Measure a ring you already own (most accurate at home)
- Choose a ring that fits the finger you're shopping for.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter in millimeters, edge to edge across the center.
- Find the closest diameter in the chart below. If you're between two sizes, see our tips below.
Method 2: Measure your finger with string or paper
- Wrap a thin strip of paper or non-stretchy string around the base of your finger.
- Mark the point where the ends meet. It should be snug, but still slide over your knuckle.
- Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters. This is your finger's circumference.
- Find the closest circumference in the chart below.
Method 3: Visit a local jeweler
Most jewelers can size your finger for free in a minute or two. It's the most accurate option, especially for wide bands or if you're buying a wedding band.

Tips for the perfect fit
- Measure at the end of the day. Fingers are slightly larger in the evening and when it's warm, and smaller in the morning and when it's cold.
- Size up for wide bands. For rings 6mm or wider, like our chunky gold rings and dome rings, go up a quarter to half size.
- Mind your knuckle. If your knuckle is larger than the base of your finger, choose a size that slides over the knuckle comfortably.
- Measure 3 to 4 times. Small differences add up. Take the average of several measurements.
- Between sizes? Choose the larger size for wide bands, and the smaller size for thin stacking rings that tend to spin.
- Each finger is different. Your dominant hand is usually a little larger, so measure the exact finger you'll wear the ring on.
Average ring sizes
If you're buying a gift and can't measure, these averages can help: the most common women's ring sizes in the US are 6 to 7, and the most common men's sizes are 9 to 10. Pinky rings usually run 2 to 3 sizes smaller than the ring finger.
